Claude Bennett Walker

Lieutenant R.N.R. Claude Bennett Walker, D.S.C., R.N.R. (6 July, 1882 – 18 May, 1918) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Walker was born in Deal.

Walker served in Majestic and Recruit early in the war before being appointed to the minelayer Biarritz on 29 May, 1915. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915. He left Biarritz when he was appointed in command of the minelayer Perdita on 9 March, 1917.[1]

He died of an illness while in command, on 18 May, 1918.[2]
