Francis William Loftus Tottenham

Admiral Francis William Loftus Tottenham K.C.B., C.B.E. (17 August, 1880 – 9 November, 1967) served in the Royal Navy. His service records do not mention the name William.

Life & Career

Born the second son of Captain Francis Loftus Tottenham.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1902.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1910.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1914. At the outbreak of war, he was Flag Commander in H.M.S. Dreadnought.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1918.

Tottenham was appointed in command of the light cruiser Delhi on 25 August, 1920.[1]

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 12 December, 1930.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 25 August, 1935.

Tottenham was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 28 June, 1939.
