Temporary Acting Lieutenant-Commander R.N.V.R. Sidney Peck Herivel, O.B.E. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.

Life & Career

Herivel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.V.R. on 13 September, 1915. He was reported in command of Devonia.[1]

On 15 April, 1916, he was to take command of Duchess of Buccleugh upon her commissioning. She damaged some pleasure boats on 23 May 1916, and Herivel was told to be more cautious in future.[2]

In December 1916, he commendably brought the small steamer Abos[?] from Murmansk to Hull.[3]

Appointed to command a trawler on 2 March, 1917. By the 16th, this appeared to be Lanercost 3254[?].[4]

Herivel was promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Lieutenant-Commander R.N.V.R. on 26 July, 1917.[5]

He was demobilised in July 1919.[6]

He was under a Receiving Order in Bankruptcy 13 September, 1932.[7]
