H.M.S. Tyne was the former S. S. Mariotis, purchased on the stocks 8 March, 1878. She served as a depot ship for the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla in the Firth of Forth during the Great War.
Service
Re-commissioned at Devonport on 1 May, 1912.[5]
