U.S.S. Concord was one of ten Omaha class light cruisers completed for the U.S. Navy.
Concord was launched on 15 December, 1921 by William Cramp & Sons. She was sponsored by Miss H. Butterick and commissioned on 3 November, 1923 with Captain O. G. Murfin in command.
