Captain R.N.R. (retired) Dunslay Harwood Casson, (26 May, 1878 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. Some Navy Lists have him as "Dunsley", but this seems the minority view.

Life & Career

Casson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 January, 1910. He possessed a slight knowledge of Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.[1]

On 2 August 1914, Casson was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Armadale Castle. He left her to join Hyacinth in June, 1916, but returned to Armadale Castle in mid-August, acting as her executive officer.[2]

Casson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1918.[3]

Demobilised on 9 September, 1919.[4]

Casson was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1922.

Casson was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 26 May, 1928.[5]
