On 2 December he was appointed to Crystal Palace to become an officer, being granted a commission as Temporary Lieutenant, [[Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve]] on 9 December, and then appointed to the [[Royal Naval College, Greenwich]]. Captain Alfred George Buckham, R.A.F. (6 November, 1879 – 21 September, 1956) was a photographer who served in the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Air Force during the First World War.

Life & Career

He joined the Royal Naval Air Service at President II as an Air Mechanic, 1st Grade, on 18 June, 1916. On 11 July he was appointed to H.M.S. Daedalus, the Cranwell Central Depot and Training Establishment, and on 30 April, 1917, became a Leading Mechanic. On 2 December he was appointed to Crystal Palace to become an officer, being granted a commission as Temporary Lieutenant, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 9 December, and then appointed to the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. In January, 1918, he was appointed to Chingford Air Station.
