Director Triangle

The Director Triangle is a geometric model used to characterise the aiming and firing of a torpedo at a moving target. Its vertices are formed by the position of the torpedo at the time of firing, the position of the target at the time of firing, and the point of impact. It was a common design basis for many torpedo directors use by the Royal Navy before and through the war. By the time war came, a move toward the deflection triangle was underway.
