U.S.S. Fairfax was one of one hundred and eleven Wickes class destroyers completed for the U.S. Navy.
Service
Fairfax was commissioned on 6 April, 1918 with Lieutenant Commander Stanford C. Hooper in command.
Armament
Fairfax was different than most of her sisters in that in May, 1918, she carried a 3-in/23cal A.A. gun forward, situated behind the forward 4-in gun. It is not clear whether this is the only such weapon she carried at the time.[7]
Captains
- Lieutenant Commander Stanford C. Hooper, 6 April, 1918
