Jacob John Hunker
Jacob John Hunker[1] or John Jacob Hunker[2] (1850 – 1 May, 1933) served in the United States Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Pennsylvania, John Hunker entered the U.S. Naval Academy on 18 April, 1862, after five months and fifteen days in the Volunteer Army. He was appointed from Ohio.[3]
Hunker was promoted to the rank of Ensign in April 1868.[4]
Hunker was promoted to the rank of Master on 26 March, 1869.[5]
Hunker was commissioned as a Lieutenant on 21 March, 1870.[6]
Hunker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander on 2 October, 1885.[7]
Hunker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 16 September, 1894.[8]
Hunker was promoted to the rank of Captain on 11 December, 1900.[9]
In 1922 he was known as Jacob John Hunker.[10]
Hunker died in Pasadena, California on 1 May, 1933 at the age of 83.[11]
