H.M.S. Menelaus was hired and commissioned as a kite balloon ship from 5 May, 1915 to 7 June, 1917 when she was converted to a store carrier and/or a troop ship.

Service

Her work as a troop ship extended from June, 1917 until December, 1919.[1]
