U.S.S. R-12 was one of twenty-seven "R" Class submarines completed for the U.S. Navy.

Service

R-12 was commissioned in Boston on 23 September, 1919 with Lieutenant F. J. Cunneen in command. This might possibly have been Charles Michael Cunneen, a gunner.
