H.M.S. Lightning, later redesignated H.M. T.B. 1, was the Royal Navy's first torpedo boat.

Armament

Two drop collars for 14-in Whitehead torpedoes. Later, these were deleted in favour of a single bow torpedo tube firing ahead.

The boat mounted no gun.
