Captain Arthur Robert Halfhide, C.B.E. (13 December, 1890 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Wimbledon, the son of E. [illeg] Halfhide.[1]

Halfhide was awarded the Ryder Memorial Prize for placing highest in the examination in French at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich.

Halfhide was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1911.[2]

Halfhide was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1919.[3]

Halfhide was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1925.[4]

Halfhide was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1933.[5]

In 1934-36, Halfhide was Senior Officer of the gunboats on the West River Flotilla.[6]

World War II

Halfhide was placed on the Retired List on 28 July, 1942.[7]
