Vice-Admiral (retired) Benjamin Charles Stanley Martin, D.S.O., C.B.E., K.B.E. (18 July, 1891 – 3 June, 1957) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was the son of Benjamin Leers Martin, a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy who was killed when the Victoria sank on 22 June 1893.

Martin was promoted to the rank of Gunner in May, 1915 and fought in Malaya at the Battle of Jutland.

Martin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October, 1918.

Martin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in October, 1926.[Inference]

Martin was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.

Martin was promoted to the rank of Captain in June, 1935.

World War II

Martin was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 July, 1944.

Martin was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) in September, 1948.
