Category:Truncated Service Record (UK)

From The Dreadnought Project
Jump to: navigation, search

Many British officers born after around 1900 had their Service Records stricken through in 1931, presumably to start anew in another book. However, whatever happened, their service records are often not resumed at all, or, in the case of accomplished officers, a new record picks up in around 1940.

The result of this is that such men often have a "blackout" between 1931 and 1940 (-ish). Perhaps at some point, the missing records will be released, if they've not been lost to time.

Note to Editors

Men who seem to fall in this category can have {{SR1931}} included in their article's intro section. This will succinctly explain the issue and place the article in this category.

Also... Fredbot excludes men in this category are from his calculation of lists of Service Records we'd like to acquire.
