Commander (retired) Ernest Jerome Fitzpatrick Tisdall, (5 August, 1884 – 10 January, 1931) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born at 49 Moscow Drive in Liverpool, when Tisdall joined the navy, his mother was listed as his guardian.

Tisdall was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1906.

Tisdall was appointed to Exmouth for navigating duties on 20 April, 1914. Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1914, he served in Exmouth until being appointed to Hercules, additional, for assistant navigation duties in the Fourth Battle Squadron in 1917. In February 1918 he was appointed to Bellerophon as navigator.

Tisdall was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 15 February, 1927.
