George Frederick Stevens-Guille
Captain George Frederick Stevens-Guille, D.S.O.*, O.B.E. (9 December, 1898 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Stevens-Guille was passed out of the Training Establishment in August 1914 and appointed to the old battleship Glory. In April 1916 he was appointed to the battleship Royal Oak, to serve in her upon her completion.
He was admitted to Plymouth Hospital with appendicitis on 21 June, 1916.[1]
Stevens-Guille was admitted to Plymouth Hospital on 2 January, 1919 with a gunshot wound on his right arm. Pronounced fit on 30 January, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1919.[2]
Stevens-Guille was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1927.[3]
Stevens-Guille was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1931.[4]
World War II
Stevens-Guille was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1939.[5]
He commanded the Torpoint shore establishment H.M.S. Raleigh from June, 1946 to February, 1948.[6]
He was placed on the Retired List on 8 January, 1949.[7]
