H.M.S. Croxton was one of thirty-two Ascot Class paddle minesweepers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

On 25 April 1917 Lieutenant R.N.R. in Command Arthur William Taylor was cautioned after Croxton collided with the trawler Remexo[?].

Soon thereafter, Taylor was found to blame and cautioned for a 15 August 1917 collision with the paddle minesweeper Melton. He was praised, however, for his good conduct in command when he rescued men of the destroyer Thruster.

Croxton was saved on the night of 25-26 November, 1917 by the destroyer Thruster, presumably after Croxton had hit a mine.[7]

In January, 1921, she was one of thirteen minesweepers lying, paid off at Rosyth.[8]
