H.M.S. Spiteful was one of twenty-four "B" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".

Service

She appears to have participated in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1901, but it is not clear whom was in command.

She was one of twenty-seven T.B.Ds. of the Portsmouth Flotilla to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1909.[8]

In mid-1913, she was operating with the Portsmouth Local Defence Flotilla.[9]

Captains

With some ambiguity, it somehow seems that Spiteful and Flying Fish shared commanders Nicholson and Sparks.

Dates of appointment are provided when known.
