In October, 1911, Rear-Admiral King-Hall left the Admiralty to hoist his flag as Rear-Admiral in the Second Division of the Home Fleet.[1] Captain Alexander L. Duff was announced as his replacement,[2] and was appointed to President for Special Service at the Admiralty on 3 October.[3] He does not appear to have been formally appointed as D.N.M., however.
