Robert Holmes

Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Robert Holmes, M.B.E., R.N. (10 April, 1862 – 13 November, 1924) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Boatswain on 21 February, 1891.

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Chief Boatswain on 5 August, 1911.[1]

Holmes was superseded in command of Bloodhound on 19 March, 1915 and was appointed to Ganges, additional, for wire net making at Shotley.

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 8 August, 1915 and re-appointed at his role as net maker.

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 8 August, 1923.
