Admiral Sidney Colpoys Dacres, G.C.B., R.N. (9 January, 1804 – 8 March, 1884) served in the Royal Navy. Wikipedia spells his first name as "Sydney".

Life & Career

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 5 May, 1827.

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Commander on 28 August, 1834.

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 August, 1840.

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 June, 1858.

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 17 November, 1865.

Dacres was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 1 April, 1870 and was placed on the Retired List on 10 January, 1874.
