Sidney Frederick Allen

Commander R.N.R. (retired) Sidney Frederick Allen, R.D. (21 March, 1885 – 18 December, 1939) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Allen served in T.B. 107 from 29 August, 1914 to 24 February, 1915.[1]

Allen served in Doris from 6 April, 1915 to 23 June, 1916. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 July, 1916.[2]

Allen was appointed to the monitor General Craufurd from 13 August, 1916 to 15 November, 1918.[3]

Allen served in P22 from 24 November, 1918 to 14 January, 1919, when he was appointed in command of the destroyer Ure.[4] He was demobilised on 28 February, 1919.[5]

Allen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 July, 1924.[6]

Allen was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 21 March, 1930.[7]

Allen was perhaps promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. at some point.
