Lieutenant-Commander (emergency) Thomas Gerald Auckland Moncreiffe (13 September, 1886 – 3 June, 1922) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Though he passed the entrance examinations for the January 1902 intake term, Moncreiffe entered the Royal Navy with the May 1902 term at H.M.S. Britannia.

Moncreiffe's first ship was the second class protected cruiser Charybdis of the Cruiser Squadron, in which he served from 15 May 1904 to 24 March 1905. He then served in Magnificent, leaving her when she arrived home on 14 September, 1906.

Between May 1907 and October 1908, Moncreiffe served in a variety of destroyers: Kangaroo, Bat, Cygnet, Bat again, Syren and Kale.

Moncreiffe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1909. He transferred to the Emergency List on 25 October, 1913.

Moncreiffe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (emergency) on 1 April, 1917. In 1918, he was working at Plymouth as a Liaison Officer. He reverted to the Emergency List on 17 February, 1919.
