Construction
Service
Converted to a Presidential Yacht in 1904.[8]
During conversion to a gunboat for use in Central American waters at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Mayflower caught fire on 24 January, 1931. The damage was so severe further work was abandoned and Mayflower was stricken from the Navy List on 23 March, 1931 and sold on 19 October.[9]
