A list of the papers of Admiral Sir Edward E. Bradford in the possession of the National Maritime Museum, London.

Log book containing handwritten weather details and general remarks, as well as cross-sections, diagrams, coastline sketches and charts, all drawn by Bradford. Covers time served aboard HMS DUKE OF WELLINGTON, HMS HERCULES and HMS MONARCH.

Log book covering time served aboard HMS RALEIGH, HMS SANDFLY, HMS EMERALD, HMS DANAE, HMS ACHILLES and HMS SAPPHIRE. The first half contains handwritten entries of bearings, weather details, etc, whilst the second half contains diary entries. Includes entries in October 1880 concerning the murder by natives of Lieutenant Bower of HMS SANDFLY plus five other crew whilst surveying ashore in the Solomon Islands. Bradford was left in command of the SANDFLY and his actions in retrieving the bodies of his comrades and the burning of the native village earned him a special promotion to Lieutenant.
