George Henry Stuart Furlong

Captain R.N.R. (retired) George Henry Stuart Furlong, R.D., R.N.R. (29 May, 1875 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Furlong was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 October, 1905.[1]

Furlong was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 October, 1913.[Inference] Fulong would serve in Columbella and Clematis during the war.[2]

Furlong was demobilised on 14 April, 1919 and promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1919.[3]

Furlong was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 30 June, 1924. He was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 29 May, 1930. In 1935, he applied to be promoted to Commodore.[4]

In 1948, he reported that he was a retired Commodore, P. & O. [illeg].
