Lionel Esworthy Foster

Commander R.N.R. (retired) Lionel Esworthy Foster, (17 March, 1904 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Foster was a probationary Midshipman R.N.R. in Argus from 1 May 1921 to 30 August, when he transferred to the light cruiser Cordelia, in which he served two months. In 1927, he served in L 18.[1] He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 January, 1930.[2]

Foster was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1938.[3]

Foster was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 17 March, 1949.[4]
