Robert Sibthorpe Connolly

Commander R.N.R. (retired) Robert Sibthorpe Connolly (20 March, 1877 – 14 April, 1926) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Connolly obtained Third Class gunnery and torpedo certificates in 1908. After completing twelve months' training, Connolly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 30 June, 1909.

Connolly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1917.

In 1919, Captain, Gunnery, Devonport reported that Connolly was considered too old for a modern ship, though he might serve in a ship where a high standard of gunnery was not required.

Connolly retired on account of age with the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 20 March, 1922.
