Handbooks

In 1873 a Manual of Fleet Evolutions was published. On the cover is a note by Admiral of the Fleet Sir Alexander Milne, Bart. stating, "This was printed by me from the General Signal Book for issue to and use of the officers of the Fleet."[1]

Grand Fleet Battle Orders

In The Grand Fleet Jellicoe wrote that, "The first Battle Orders drawn up and issued shortly after war commenced were modelled on a Battle memorandum which I had prepared when in command, first, of the Atlantic Fleet, and, later, of the 2nd Battle Squadron. But the changing situation soon made alterations and additions necessary, and the Orders were under constant revision."[2]
