Admiral SIR John Durnford, G.C.B., D.S.O., Royal Navy (6 February, 1849 – 13 June, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 18 October, 1906, vice Campbell.^[1] Durnford succeeded Admiral Sir Arthur D. Fanshawe as President of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich on 23 March, 1908.^[2] He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 22 July, 1910, vice MacLeod.^[3]
