H.M.S. Lizard was one of four Bramble class gunboats completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Lizard was assigned to the Australia Station, serving around New Zealand from early 1888. In 1900, she was sent to China where she saw service during the Boxer Rebellion under Lieutenant in Command John Campbell Watson. She returned to Australia in August, 1901.
