H.M.S. Rapid was one of seven Satellite Class corvettes completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Devonport on 9 September, 1884 for service on the Cape of Good Hope and West Coast of Africa.[7]

Re-commissioned at Sydney on 12 April, 1888.[8]
