Captain Desmond Nevill Cooper Tufnell, D.S.C., R.N. (15 November, 1892 – 24 April, 1965) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain W. N. Tufnell of the East Surrey Regiment.
Tufnell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1915.
Tufnell was appointed in command of the destroyer Ferret on 24 September, 1918.[1]
Tufnell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1923.
Tufnell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1928.
Tufnell was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1936.
World War II
Tufnell retired on 2 January, 1946 and reverted to it (somehow) on 1 April, 1946.
