H.M.S. Lancaster was one of ten armoured cruisers of the Monmouth Class completed between 1903 and 1904.
Service
On 3 February, 1911, she collided with the armoured cruiser Aboukir while operating with the Sixth Cruiser Squadron. It was determined that Rear-Admiral Douglas Austin Gamble was at fault.[9]
Recommissioned at Sheerness on 5 November, 1912 for service with the Second Fleet.[10]
