H.M.S. Phoenix was one of six Parthian Class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Commissioned at Birkenhead on 29 November, 1930 under the command of Lt. Commander Walter Ernest Higham.[2] By early 1933, she was with Third Submarine Flotilla on the China Station.[3] By mid-1937, the formation changed to the Fourth Submarine Flotilla.[4]
