Rear-Admiral (retired) SIR Adolphus Augustus Frederic Fitz-George, C.V.O. (30 January, 1846 – 17 December, 1922) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Fitz-George was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 12 August, 1866.[1]
Fitz-George was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 November, 1872. In September 1875 he was appointed in command of the sloop Rapid. He grounded her on 24 March, 1876 through a "want of care in approaching the land too close & not having properly used the lead."[2]
Fitz-George was promoted to the rank of Captain on 14 October, 1881.[3]
Retired owing to non-service on 1 January, 1894, Fitz-George was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 20 October, 1896.[4]
