Captain (retired) William Lutley Williams Williams-Mason, R.N. (9 April, 1877 – 13 December, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Caernarvon.
Williams-Mason was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1899.[1]
Williams-Mason was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1907.[2]
Williams-Mason was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 30 June, 1912.[3]
In the Test Mobilisation, Williams-Mason was in the armoured cruiser Cressy. On 22 October, 1914 he was appointed to the battleship Majestic. After a few weeks in Calyx as first officer, he was appointed to Victory for the Boys Overflow Training Establishment, Portsmouth in April, 1915.
On 1 November 1915, he was appointed to the Buncrana Naval Centre. In this post, he would remain through June, 1918, being promoted to the rank of Commander on 9 April, 1917.[4]
On 28 June 1918, Williams-Mason was appointed to Chatham Royal Dockyard, where he served until being reverted to the Retired List on 15 April, 1919.[5]
Williams-Mason was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 9 April, 1922.[6]
