John Noble Shipton ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant on 6 October, 1915.[1]

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Lieutenant on 23 March, 1916. On 29 June 1916 he was appointed to the destroyer Foyle.[2]

In January 1917 he was appointed to the destroyer Leven.

Shipton was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant on 6 October, 1917.[3]

Admitted to Chatham Royal Naval Hospital on 19 February 1918 to be treated for neurasthenia. He was still not entirely better by June and placed on shore duties at Cardiff. He regained fitnes on 9 September.[4]

Shipton was appointed in command of the destroyer Milbrook on 4 January, 1919.[5]

After some confusion, he was emobilised upon his arrival in Australia on 6 July, 1919.[6]
