Commander R.N.R. (retired) Edgar Lakeman Trant, R.D. (14 March, 1874 – 25 May, 1958) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Trant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 17 July, 1907.[1]
Trant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 17 July, 1915. He was appointed to the destroyer Ostrich on 20 January, 1916, and appointed in command of the vessel on 1 September, 1917.[2]
In 1917 he was told to be more casreful in future after a collision between Ostrich and H.M.T. Fluff.[3]
Trant was demobilised on 21 January, 1919 and placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 March, 1919.[4]
World War II
In 1948, Trant reported he was a retired Master Mariner living in Liverpool.[5]
