Captain R.N.R. (retired) Robert Love Alexander, D.S.O., R.D. (21 March, 1879 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Born in Edinburgh.
Alexander was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 12 November, 1910.[1]
Alexander was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 25 on 14 July, 1917.[2]
On 14 March 1918, Alexander was awarded the D.S.O.. On 19 September he was mentioned in despatches.[3]
Alexander was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 12 November, 1918.[4]
Post-War
Alexander was demobilised on 1 March, 1919. On 9 October, he was awrded the R.D..[5]
Alexander was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 27 December, 1922.[6]
In 1925, he received a three day course in anti-gas.
Alexander was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 21 March, 1929.[7]
