Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Charles Alfred Todd, D.S.C., R.N.R. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

On 6 November 1915, Todd was sent to H.M.S. Defiance for instruction in use of the Modified Sweep. On 21 December he was appointed to Attentive for command of an armed trawler in Auxiliary Patrol Area XI, vice Benson.[1]

On 15 January 1916, the trawler Canlonia collided with the destroyer Afridi, and Todd was faulted for the accident.[2]

Todd was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 March, 1916.[3]

On 4 February 1917 he was given command of a group of net drifters in Area XI. On 7 March, this was changed to a group of armed trawlers.

Todd commanded the minesweeper Quadrille from 18 June 1919 to 14 July 1919 when he was placed in charge of Pytchley.

He was demobilised on 31 December, 1919.[4]
