H.M. T.B. 44 (1885)
Builder: John I. Thornycroft & Company[1]
Ordered: 30 April/1 May, 1885[2]
Launched: 1885[3]
Sold: 18 December, 1919[4]

H.M. T.B. 44 was one of 53 first-class torpedo boats of the 125 Footer class.

Service

In 1895, she was one of ten first-class torpedo boats stationed in Malta.[5]

Around 1906-1907, with the issuance of torpedo boat numbers to the first of the Cricket class torpedo boats, the existing Torpedo Boats numbered 25 to 79 had a "0" prepended to their number. This vessel, therefore, became T.B. 044.[6]

She was sold at Malta on 18 December, 1919.[7]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

There is some confusion here regarding Reep, and it also involves T.B. 043.
