H.M.S. Newbury was one of thirty-two Ascot Class paddle minesweepers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Newbury was heavily damaged in the Action of 15 February, 1918, a German destroyer raid on the small net-tending craft in the Straits of Dover.
In January, 1921, she was one of thirteen minesweepers lying, paid off at Rosyth.[7]
