Vice-Admiral William Samuel Greive, born William Samuel Brown, Royal Navy (2 January, 1831 – 29 October, 1891) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Grieve was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 17 February, 1884, vice Hamilton.[1]

Grieve was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 14 July, 1889, vice Brandreth.[2] In accordance with the provisions of the Orders in Council of 22 February, 1870, and 5 August, 1875, he was placed on the Retired List on 13 August, at his own request.[3]
