Rear-Admiral Francis Durrant, C.M.G., Royal Navy (24 June, 1837 – 6 December, 1896) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Durrant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 2 September, 1869.[1]
Following the Prince of Wales's tour of India Durrant was promoted to the rank of Captain on 15 May, 1876.[2]
He was appointed Governor to Prince George on 1 June, 1883.[3]
He was appointed in command of the battleship Ajax on 27 November, 1885.[4]
Durrant was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral dated 29 January, 1891, vice St. George Caulfield D'Arcy-Irvine.[5]
In accordance with the provisions of the Orders in Council of 22 February, 1870 and 5 August, 1875, Durrant was placed on the Retired List dated 27 August, 1893.[6]
