U.S.S. Gwin was the last of six Caldwell class destroyers completed for the U.S. Navy, joining the fleet too late to participate in the war.
Service
Gwin was commissioned at Puget Sound on 18 March, 1920 under the command of Lieutenant Commander Herbert H. Bouson. Her career was not much to speak of – she traversed the Panama Canal to arrive on the east coast in June. Two years later, she was to be decommissioned, never to serve again.
