Captain Frederic Walter Bennett (26 April, 1887 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 30 October, 1907.[1]

Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander with seniority of 30 October, 1915.[2]

Bennett served as Shannon's gunnery officer at the Battle of Jutland, and was recommended for having withheld his fire, as he could see very little to shoot at.[3]

He would later serve as gunnery officer in H.M.S. Renown, from June 1916 to 15 February, 1919, being promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 31 December, 1918.[4]

Bennett was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 26 April, 1932.[5]

World War II

Various duty, starting with work as a Consular Shipping Advisor in New York from September 1939.[6]
