H.M.S. Albatross was one of forty destroyers of the "C" class — a "30 knotter".

She was built for £66,500, and failed to make her design speed of 32 knots, reaching just 31.35 knots despite developing 7,732 H.P. – more than her designed 7,500 H.P..[8]
